Inkachiriasqa Lake Trek Full Day is a high-altitude adventure to one of the Andes’ best-kept secrets. The tour features a scenic drive, a rewarding hike through remote landscapes, and a visit to the turquoise Inkachiriasqa Lake, with stunning views from Waywakunka Pass and the Salkantay range before returning to Cusco.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Qoyllor Village – Waywakunka Pass – Salkantay Viewpoint – Inkachiriasqa Lake – Cusco

The adventure begins early in the morning with hotel pick-up between 4:00 and 4:30 am in Cusco. We travel by tourist transport toward Limatambo, where we stop to enjoy a nourishing breakfast around 7:00 am.

After breakfast, we continue driving to Qoyllor Village, arriving at approximately 8:30 am, where the hike begins. The trail gradually ascends through beautiful Andean landscapes, leading us to Waywakunka Pass, which we reach around 10:00 am.

From the pass, we continue hiking to the Salkantay Viewpoint, arriving around 11:50 am, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped Salkantay Glacier and surrounding peaks. Shortly after, at approximately 12:15 pm, we reach the stunning Inkachiriasqa Lake, a peaceful and little-visited high-altitude lagoon, perfect for photography and relaxation.

After spending time exploring and enjoying the scenery, we begin the descent back toward Waywakunka Pass at 1:00 pm. We then head to a nearby location for lunch around 2:30 pm, followed by our return journey to Cusco.

Arrival in Cusco is approximately 6:00 pm, concluding an unforgettable full-day trekking experience in the Andes.

Weather

Weather conditions can change quickly due to the high altitude. Mornings are usually cold, with daytime temperatures ranging from mild to cool. Rain is possible, especially between November and March, so waterproof clothing is recommended.

Acclimatization

Recommended to spend at least one day in Cusco before the tour.
